When taken promptly, ellaOne® prevents pregnancy after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. It works by delaying ovulation. This prevents sperm from meeting the fertilizable egg, thus  preventing pregnancy.

ellaOne® is considered the most effective morning-after pill because it can delay ovulation even on the two days of highest pregnancy risk (when LH levels are rising).

Areas of application :

• Emergency contraception within 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure.

• Take one tablet as soon as possible but no later than 120 hours after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. 
• Special instructions :  If you have further sexual intercourse after taking ellaOne®, it is important to use a condom as additional contraception. If you vomit within 3 hours of taking the pill, you should take another morning-after pill.
• Contraindications : Hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the other ingredients. Information on dosage, warnings and precautions for use, interactions with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction, fertility, pregnancy and lactation, adverse reactions, and possible habituation effects can be found in the published product information.

Ingredients

• Qualitative and quantitative composition: Each tablet contains 30 mg ulipristal acetate. Excipient with known effect: Each tablet contains 237 mg lactose (as monohydrate). 
• List of other ingredients: Tablet core: Lactose monohydrate, povidone, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate. Film-coating: Polyvinyl alcohol (E1203), macrogol (E1521), talc (E553b), titanium dioxide (E171), polysorbate 80 (E433), iron oxide yellow (E172), muscovite (E555).
