Fluicondrial H is a synovial fluid substitute that, thanks to its viscoelastic and lubricating properties, helps restore the rheological conditions of the joints, altered in patients with degenerative osteoarthritis of the knee joint. The product, by improving the characteristics of the synovial fluid of the knee, has a protective effect on this joint with a subsequent improvement in its functionality and a reduction in pain symptoms. Fluicondrial H acts only at the level of the joint into which it is injected, without having a systemic effect.

Fluicondrial H is a sterile, biodegradable and isotonic injection gel for intra-articular use. Fluicondrial H consists of high molecular weight hyaluronic acid produced by Streptococcus equi bacteria, at a concentration of 20 mg / ml in a physiological buffer. Fluicondrial H is characterized by viscoelastic properties, therefore it helps to normalize the viscosity of the synovial fluid located in the intra-articular cavity.

The action of hyaluronic acid Fluicondrial H with a molecular weight of 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 daltons in the synovial joint provides mechanical lubrication and a cushioning effect of mechanical stresses of the joint, reduces pain, improves visco-inductive function and slows the progression of osteoarthritic pathology.

Each package contains one syringe vial of Fluicondrial H and an information leaflet. There are two labels with the batch number and expiration date. One of these labels should be attached to the patient’s medical record, and the other should be given to the patient to ensure traceability.

How to use
Before injecting Fluicondrial H, remove all effusion from the joint; The same needle must be used to remove the effusion and to inject Fluicondrial H. Remove the protective cap from the syringe, being especially careful not to touch the orifice. Screw the 18-22G needle firmly onto the luer ring, following the instructions below. Before injection, clean the injection site with a suitable disinfectant. Inject Fluicondrial H using aseptic technique. Inject into the joint cavity only. It is recommended to perform an initial cycle of one or two treatment sessions, depending on the individual patient’s needs, at least one week apart, followed by maintenance sessions as directed by the physician.

Instructions for assembling the needle into the syringe
Carefully unscrew the cap from the tip of the syringe, being careful not to touch the orifice.

Gently grasp the needle safety catch and insert the needle into the Luer-lock fitting, tightening it firmly until you feel a slight back pressure, which ensures a watertight seal and prevents leakage of the gel during injection.

Warnings
Flucondrial N is indicated for intra-articular injections only and should only be administered by a physician who has undergone special training in intra-articular injection techniques. Before use, check the integrity of the syringe and the expiration date. Do not use needles other than those specified. The product must not be injected into an infected or severely inflamed joint. Infiltration should be avoided in case of active infections or inflammatory skin diseases near the infiltration site. The patient is advised to avoid physical activity associated with joint stress after intra-articular injection and to resume normal activities after a few days.
Please note: the outer part of the syringe is not sterile.
Flucondrial N has not been tested in pregnant or lactating women and its use in these cases is not recommended. Fluicondrial H should not be used in patients under 18 years of age.
Since Fluicondrial H is a single-use product, quality and sterility are only guaranteed if the syringe is sealed. Any remaining product must therefore be discarded and not reused, even after new sterilization.
Do not use the product if the packaging is already opened or damaged. After use, dispose of the syringe in a suitable container in accordance with current legislation.

Incompatibility
There is an incompatibility between sodium hyaluronate and quaternary ammonium compounds such as benzalkonium chloride solutions. Therefore, avoid contact of Fluicondrial H with these substances.”
