Composition
Active ingredients: 0.35 mg benzalkonium chloride, 0.15 mg dequalinium chloride.
Excipients: Macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate, Sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment, Purified water, Sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, Bitter fennel oil, Peppermint oil, Peppermint oil, Star anise oil, Levomenthol, Ethanol 96% (v/v), Glycerin.
Scope
For temporary supportive treatment of inflammation of the oral mucosa.
For temporary use in cases of bad breath (caused by microbes in the mouth).
Dosage
Please follow the instructions below, otherwise the medicine may not work properly.
Dosage instructions
Spray the solution into the mouth 3-5 times every two hours or more often in severe cases.
Contraindications
The medicine should not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to dequalinium, benzalkonium chloride or any other ingredient, in infants and children under 2 years of age, in patients with bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases accompanied by severe hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract. Do not apply to wounds.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Dekvonal can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Rarely (less than 1 in 1,000 people treated) the following may occur:
Hypersensitivity
Discoloration of the tongue, teeth or dentures
Very rarely (less than 1 in 10,000 people treated) the following may occur:
Local allergic and non-allergic reactions (eg, swelling, urticaria, irritation of the mucous membranes, itching, sometimes also with shortness of breath).
Taste disturbances
The following may occur with unknown frequency:
Anaphylactic reactions (with accompanying symptoms)
Sensitization (development of hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or any other ingredient).
Laryngeal spasm in infants and children up to 2 years of age, leading to severe respiratory distress due to levomenthol.
Swelling of the mucous membrane of the throat.
Inflammation of the oral mucosa.
Delayed wound healing when applied to wounds.
