Efferalgan is a medicine for children in the form of suppositories with analgesic and antipyretic properties.
The active substance is paracetamol (Paracetamolum)
1 suppository contains 150 mg of paracetamol
Excipients: semi-synthetic glycerides.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.
Children weighing from 10 to 15 kg: rectally, 1 suppository at a time. If necessary, the dose may be repeated, not more frequently than every 6 hours. Do not use more than 4 suppositories a day.
The period of use of suppositories should be as short as possible.
Regular use of this medicine helps to prevent periodic worsening of pain or fever. In children, equal 6-hour intervals between each dose should be kept both during the day and at night.
Do not use this drug for more than 3 days without consulting a doctor.
In adults and children weighing more than 50 kg: the total dose of paracetamol must not exceed 4 g / day, including all paracetamol medicines.
In elderly patients, dosage adjustment is usually not necessary.
In patients with impaired renal and / or liver function, the dose and frequency of use should be consulted with your doctor.
In patients with severe renal impairment, the minimum dosing interval should be based on the patient’s creatinine clearance.
In patients with impaired liver function, in adults weighing less than 50 kg, with chronic or compensated active liver disease, mild to moderate liver failure, Gilbert’s syndrome, chronic alcoholism, long-term malnutrition, dehydration, reduce the dose of the drug or extend the intervals between doses.
