Composition
Active ingredients: 250 mg paracetamol.
Excipients: Solid fat.
Scope
The drug is a painkiller, antipyretic (analgesic and antipyretic).
The drug is used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and/or fever.
Dosage
The dosage is based on the information in the table below. The dosage of paracetamol depends on age and body weight, usually 10 to 15 mg/kg body weight once, up to a maximum total daily dose of 60 mg/kg body weight.
The appropriate dosage interval depends on the symptoms and the maximum total daily dose. The duration should not be less than 6 hours.
If symptoms persist for more than 3 days, consult a doctor.
Body weight (age): 13 kg – 15 kg (children 2 – 4 years)
Single dose (equivalent to a dose of paracetamol): 1 suppository (equivalent to 250 mg paracetamol)
Max. daily dose (24 hours) (equivalent to a dose of paracetamol): 3 suppositories (equivalent to 750 mg paracetamol).
Body weight (age): 16 kg – 25 kg (children 4 – 8 years)
Single dose (equivalent to a dose of paracetamol): 1 suppository (equivalent to 250 mg paracetamol)
Max. daily dose (24 hours) (equivalent to a dose of paracetamol): 4 suppositories (equivalent to 1000 mg paracetamol).
The maximum daily dose (24 hours) stated in the table should not be exceeded under any circumstances.
Special patient groups
Hepatic impairment and mild renal impairment
In patients with hepatic or renal impairment or Gilbert’s syndrome, the dose should be reduced or the interval between doses should be increased. The total daily dose of 2 g should not be exceeded without consulting a physician.
Severe renal impairment
In cases of severe renal impairment (SCF < 30 ml/min), an interval of at least 8 hours should be observed between doses.
Elderly patients
Experience has shown that no special dosage adjustment is required. However, in debilitated, immobile elderly patients with hepatic or renal impairment, a dose reduction or an increase in the dosing interval may be necessary.
Without consulting a doctor, the maximum daily dose of 60 mg/kg body weight (but not more than 2 g/day) should not be exceeded in the following cases:
Body weight less than 50 kg
Chronic alcoholism
Dehydration
Chronic malnutrition
Children and adolescents with low body weight
Use in children under 2 years or with a body weight less than 13 kg is not recommended, since the dosage is not suitable for this age group.
Contraindications
The medicine should not be used if you or your child is allergic to paracetamol or any of the other ingredients.
Side effects
Rare: may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people.
slight increase in some liver enzymes (serum transaminases)
Very rare: may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people.
Changes in blood counts, such as a decrease in the number of platelets (thrombocytopenia) or a sharp decrease in the number of certain white blood cells (agranulocytosis)
Narrowing of the airways (analgesic asthma) in sensitive people
Allergic reactions in the form of a simple skin rash or hives up to a shock reaction. In case of an allergic shock reaction, seek help from your nearest doctor.
Severe skin reactions
Cases of blood and fluid disorders (high anion gap metabolic acidosis), which occur when plasma acidity increases with the simultaneous use of flucloxacillin and paracetamol, usually in the presence of risk factors.
