Usage
RELAXER: Before each use of the straightener, Strand checks your hair, no matter how many times you have relaxed.
Separate a small section of hair at the back of the hairline.
Mix the activator (step 1) and the relaxer cream (step 2) according to the mixing instructions. Apply the mixture evenly to the unstraightened sections of hair. After 8 minutes, smooth your hair with even movements. Leave the mixture on your hair for the recommended time and continue smoothing. (See time guide) Use warm water to thoroughly remove the straightening mixture from your hair. Apply a small amount of neutralizing shampoo (step 3) with color change. Lather and rinse the shampoo from your hair strands. Pink foam means that the straightener is still on your hair. When the shampoo turns completely white, all the straightener will be washed out of your hair. Gently stretch the strands. If your hair breaks easily, do not straighten your hair. If the strand is not straight enough, increase the frequency of straightening for more straightness.
DO NOT exceed the time indicated for your hair type. If allergies or skin irritation occur, DO NOT STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR.
HOW TO MIX ACTIVATOR AND RELAXER CREAM IMPORTANT: The activator liquid must be mixed with the relaxer cream before applying to the hair. Using a wooden spatula, make a well in the center of the relaxer cream jar.
Pour the entire contents of the activator bottle into the relaxer cream jar. Stir vigorously until the mixture is creamy and uniform in color. 4. APPLYING THE RELAXER Gently detangle the hair with a large comb, being careful not to irritate the scalp. Divide the hair into 4 sections, down the middle and from ear to ear. Put on protective gloves. Set the timer as directed in the strand test and timing guide.
Begin applying the relaxer cream to the back sections. Create small 1/4 inch wide parts and apply the relaxer cream with the back of a wide tooth comb or your fingers. Work through each section, leaving the edges of the hairline for last. APPLICATION SHOULD BE COMPLETED WITHIN 5-8 MINUTES.
RETOUCHING: Apply to new growth only.
SMOOTHING Smoothing the hair enhances straightening. Use your fingers or the back of a wide-tooth comb to smooth the hair. Use short, firm strokes and follow the natural pattern of the hair. To touch up new growth, limit smoothing to new growth only. Check the time chart for the recommended smoothing time for your hair type, and take into account the amount of time you smoothed during the strand test. 6. RINSE OUT THE STRAIGHTENER WITH WATER.
