Irrigation is helpful especially in the case of acute and chronic inflammation of the paranasal sinuses, allergic or infectious rhinitis, before and after nose and sinus surgery, during periods of increased exposure to particulate matter suspended in the air (smog) or in the workplace, as well as to maintaining proper hygiene of the nose and paranasal sinuses.
