Action:
Xylometazoline WZF is a drug used to treat nasal congestion caused by swelling of the nasal mucosa due to acute rhinitis (including colds and flu). For inflammation of the paranasal sinuses. For allergic rhinitis (hay fever). For acute otitis media.
The active substance, xylometazoline hydrochloride, has a sympathomimetic effect – it primarily stimulates alpha-adrenergic receptors located, among other things, in the blood vessels of the nasal mucosa. The drug constricts the vessels of the mucous membrane of the nasopharynx, reducing its hyperemia, swelling and exudate. It unblocks the nasal passages and passages leading from the nasal cavity to the paranasal sinuses, reduces nasal discharge and makes breathing through the nose easier.
