Azelastine-POS® 1mg/ml nasal spray, solution is an over-the-counter medicine for the symptomatic treatment of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) in adults and children aged 6 years and over.

Azelastine POS Nasal Spray contains the active ingredient azelastine, which belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines. Antihistamines work by protecting against the effects of histamine, which the body produces as part of an allergic reaction.

Azelastine POS nasal spray is used for the symptomatic treatment of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis).

Azelastine POS Nasal Spray is suitable for adults and children 6 years and older. Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 3 days.

Application

Dosage: The recommended dose is one spray of Azelastine POS Nasal Spray per nostril twice daily (morning and evening). This corresponds to a daily dose of 0.56 mg azelastine hydrochloride.
Use in children and adolescents: Due to a lack of data on safety and efficacy, Azelastine POS Nasal Spray must not be used in children under 6 years of age.
Duration of use : Azelastine POS Nasal Spray can be used until symptoms subside, but should not be used continuously for longer than 6 months. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if your symptoms worsen or if you do not notice significant improvement after using Azelastine POS Nasal Spray for more than 3 days.
Method of administration : Azelastine POS Nasal Spray is intended for nasal use. Azelastine POS Nasal Spray should always be used by the same person.
