- IDROFLOG is an ophthalmic solution containing sodium hyaluronate. Due to its mucomimetic and pseudoplastic properties, it distributes evenly over the ocular surface, forming a viscoelastic protective film. Through a mechanical action (“barrier effect”), IDROFLOG stabilizes the tear film and reduces friction caused by eye movements and blinking.
- It protects the ocular surface by promoting the healing process of damage to the cells of the corneal epithelium caused by reduced tear production. When the glands that produce the tear film reduce their normal activity for various reasons, the corneal surface is more exposed to external influences.
- Over time, these influences lead to corneal cell dysfunction and the associated risk of unpleasant inflammation. IDROFLOG protects the corneal surface from external influences and, thanks to the additional action of hydrocortisone sodium phosphate (a low-dose cortisone with a weak anti-inflammatory effect and short duration of action), helps prevent the risk of recurrence of inflammation.
- Due to its special saline composition, IDROFLOG restores and maintains physiological levels of important ions such as sodium, potassium, and magnesium, which are essential for the health of the ocular surface. This medical device contains no preservatives.
