Description
Theraflu ExtraGRIP is a medicinal product for the symptomatic treatment of influenza and colds (fever, chills, runny nose, myalgesal and osteoarticular pain).

Composition
The active ingredients are paracetamol (Paracetamolum), phenylephrine (Phenylephrini hydrochloridum) and pheniramine (Pheniramini maleas).

1 sachet contains 650 mg of paracetamol, 10 mg of phenylephrine hydrochloride and 20 mg of pheniramine maleate.

Excipients: sucrose, acesulfame potassium, quinoline yellow (E 104), sunset yellow, maltodextrin M100, hydrated colloidal silicon dioxide, citric flavors, anhydrous citric acid, sodium citrate dihydrate, calcium phosphate.

Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

Preparation for oral administration.
Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 1 sachet 3-4 times a day, no more than every 4-6 hours.

How to use: dissolve the contents of 1 sachet in 1 glass of hot water (do not boil). Drink the solution when its temperature is adequate.

Action
Theraflu ExtraGRIP has analgesic and antipyretic effects due to the presence of paracetamol. Pheniramine relieves symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion. Phenylephrine reduces puffiness and nasal congestion (by its effect on constriction of blood vessels).

Contraindications
Do not take Theraflu ExtraGRIP:

in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
if you are taking or have taken MAO inhibitors (a medicine used to treat depression) within the last 14 days.
in the case of such diseases as: severe heart defects, very high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism, glaucoma with a narrow filtration angle, adrenal pheochromocytoma;
when using: tricyclic antidepressants, beta-blockers, sympathomimetics, appetite suppressants, psychostimulants,
during pregnancy and breastfeeding,
in children under 12 years of age.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.

Common side effects (may affect 1 to 10 people in 100):

drowsiness
nausea, vomiting.
Rare side effects (affects 1 to 10 users in 10,000):

insomnia, nervousness,
headache, dizziness,
constipation, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort
dry mouth
accelerated heart rate, increased blood pressure, palpitations;
malaise (general discomfort, breakdown).
Very rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):

changes in the blood picture: agranulocytosis, leukopenia, pancytopenia.
The drug should be discontinued if the following occurs:

allergic reaction,
angioedema,
rash, hives, itching, skin redness,
bleeding.
Warnings and Precautions
Do not use this medicine along with other medicines containing paracetamol.
The use of the drug is discussed with the doctor if there is: renal and hepatic insufficiency, hemolytic anemia, diabetes mellitus, diseases of the circulatory system, epilepsy, gastric ulcer.
Consult physician if: fever persists or increases (3 days of use) or nasal pain/congestion still occurs (5 days of use of medication), you have trouble breathing.
Alcohol should not be used during treatment with Theraflu m.in. due to the presence of paracetamol.
Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.
Do not store above 25°C.
Use of other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or may be taking any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Theraflu ExtraGRIP may interact with:

MAO inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants,
drugs that lower blood pressure (beta-blockers, methyldopa);
digoxin and other glycosides,
anticoagulants (derivatives of warfarin and coumarin);
other drugs containing paracetol or drugs with a sympathomimetic effect;
medicines for nausea/vomiting (metoclopramide),
medicines used for epilepsy (carbamazepine, lamotrigine);
ergotamine
thiazide diuretics,
opioid drugs.
Use of the drug with food and drink
Do not take the drug with alcohol.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Do not use the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Impact on laboratory studies
Phenylephrine may affect the outcome of doping tests.

Paracetamol may interfere with uric acid results.

Use in children and adolescents
Do not use in children under 12 years of age.

Theraflu ExtraGRIP jest produktem leczniczym przeznaczonym do objawowego leczenia grypy i przeziębienia (gorączka, dreszcze, katar, ból mięśniowy i kostno-stawowy).

Kompozycja
Substancjami czynnymi są paracetamol (Paracetamolum), fenylefryna (Phenylephrini hydrochloridum) i feniramina (Pheniramini maleas).

1 saszetka zawiera 650 mg paracetamolu, 10 mg chlorowodorku fenylefryny i 20 mg maleinianu feniraminy.

Ostrzeżenia i środki
Nie należy stosować tego leku razem z innymi lekami zawierającymi paracetamol.
Stosowanie leku jest konsultowane z lekarzem w przypadku: niewydolności nerek i wątroby, niedokrwistości hemolitycznej, cukrzycy, chorób układu krążenia, epilepsji, wrzodów żołądka.
Skonsultuj się z lekarzem, jeśli: gorączka utrzymuje się lub wzrasta (3 dni stosowania) lub ból/zatkany nos nadal występuje (5 dni stosowania leku), masz problemy z oddychaniem.
Nie należy stosować alkoholu podczas leczenia preparatem Theraflu m.in. ze względu na obecność paracetamolu.
Lek należy przechowywać w miejscu niewidocznym i niedostępnym dla dzieci.
Nie przechowywać w temperaturze powyżej 25°C.
Stosowanie innych leków
Należy powiedzieć lekarzowi lub farmaceucie, jeśli pacjent przyjmuje, ostatnio przyjmował lub może przyjmować inne leki, w tym leki wydawane bez recepty.

Theraflu ExtraGRIP może wchodzić w interakcje z:

Inhibitory MAO, trójpierścieniowe leki przeciwdepresyjne,
leki obniżające ciśnienie krwi (beta-blokery, metylodopa);
digoksyna i inne glikozydy,
antykoagulanty (pochodne warfaryny i kumaryny);
inne leki zawierające paracetol lub leki o działaniu sympatykomimetycznym;
leki na nudności/wymioty (metoklopramid),
leki stosowane w padaczce (karbamazepina, lamotrygina);
ergotamina
diuretyki tiazydowe,
leki opioidowe.
Stosowanie leku z jedzeniem i piciem
Nie należy przyjmować leku z alkoholem.
