The drug Inuprin Forte contains inosine pranobex as an active substance, which has antiviral and immune system stimulating effects. The drug’s action is primarily based on stimulating the cellular response of the immune system associated with T lymphocytes. The drug stimulates the maturation and differentiation of T lymphocytes, regulates the activity of cytotoxic, helper and suppressor lymphocytes and NK cells, which belong to the first line of antiviral defense. It also increases the synthesis of some antibodies (IgG). It increases the synthesis and secretion of cytokines involved in the antiviral response: interleukin 1 and 2 (IL-1, IL-2) and interferon gamma (INF-gamma). It supports the accumulation and activation of cells participating in the immune response: neutrophils, monocytes and macrophages. After oral administration, it is rapidly and almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract.
Indications
Inuprin Forte is a drug in the form of a syrup indicated for use in adults and children over 1 year of age:
- as a support in cases of reduced immunity, in the case of recurrent upper respiratory tract infections.
- in the treatment of cold sores of the lips and face caused by the herpes simplex virus. It can only be used in patients who have previously been diagnosed with this infection.
