Cationorm eye drops are a sterile, hypotonic preparation without added preservatives in the form of an emulsion resembling a milky liquid.
Action and properties
Cationorm eye drops are a unique emulsion that not only effectively moisturizes the eye, but also works to supplement the 3 layers of the tear film, providing long-lasting relief. The tear film, which protects our eyes from drying out and irritation, is not composed exclusively of water, but is a natural emulsion. For this reason, supplementing the tear film with only a water component is not enough – the effect is usually short-lived, and patients are forced to use the drops frequently. In order to achieve a long-lasting and more complete effect, it is worth supplementing the entire tear film: the water, lipid and mucin layers.
Cationorm is a unique cationic emulsion that complements all three layers of the tear film:
- lipid – protection of the eye against water evaporation,
- water – moisturizing the eye and increasing the volume of tears,
- mucin – better adhesion and distribution of the preparation on the eye surface thanks to the use of an appropriate cationic compound.
Cationorm drops have a moisturizing, lubricating and protective effect on the surface of the eye. They create conditions conducive to natural eye regeneration and limit tear film evaporation. Because they adhere better and stay on the eye longer, they can be applied less often and the bottle lasts longer. Cationorm has a more versatile effect than artificial tears in relieving the symptoms of dry eyes, such as: burning, itching, stinging or a feeling of sand in the eyes.

Composition
Mineral oil, glycerol, tyloxapol, poloxamer 188, tris-hydrochloride, tromethamine, cetalkonium chloride (as cationic compound) and purified water.
