Aluminum acetate tartras
Altacet is a colorless gel with a menthol scent, containing aluminum acetate tartrate as an active ingredient. The drug, when applied to the skin, has an astringent and anti-edematous effect, while also relieving pain. The excipient menthol has a local cooling effect, giving an anesthetic effect.
Indications
Topically on the skin in:
- bruises;
- joint and post-traumatic swelling;
- swelling caused by first degree burns.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to aluminum acetate or any of the other ingredients of the drug.
- Use on large wounds, damaged or infected skin, or areas affected by eczema.
- Application to mucous membranes and around the eyes.
- Chronic use.
- Age under 3 years.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before using the preparation.
Dosage
The preparation is for topical use only on clean, dry and undamaged skin, preferably in the form of compresses.
