PRENACAPS is a line of dietary supplements intended for women trying to conceive, pregnant and breastfeeding.
PRENACAPS MULTI 2 + DHA is a complex of 18 ingredients for women from the 13th week of pregnancy and breastfeeding.
High digestibility and active forms – PRENACAPS MULTI 2 contains highly digestible and active forms of ingredients (including zinc citrate, methylcobalamin). It also includes a biologically active form of folic acid (Quatrefolic®) with proven bioavailability (test results can be found at the bottom of the page).
600 mg of DHA and 120 mg of EPA- PRENACAPS DHA contains 600 mg of DHA and 120 mg of EPA obtained from fish oil with anchovies. The product has been tested for the content of heavy metals.
The team of the Polish Gynecological Society recommends consuming min. 600 mg of DHA by pregnant and lactating women. It also recommends that the source of the fish’s DHA is small fish.
Transparent composition in a glass container – The products do not contain, among others artificial fillers, preservatives and sweeteners.
ACTION AND RESEARCH RESULTS
The ingredients contained in PRENACAPS MULTI 2 support, among others:
– the functioning of the nervous system (thiamine, B2, niacin, B6, B12, biotin, iodine, magnesium)
– maintaining healthy skin (biotin, B2, zinc)
– production red blood cells (B2, B6, B12, iron)
– reducing the feeling of fatigue and weariness (B2, niacin, B6, C, pantothenic acid)
– maintaining the proper metabolism of homocysteine (B6, B12, folic acid)
– protecting cells against oxidative stress (E)
– immune system (D, C, folic acid ) and vision (B2)
– maintaining healthy bones (D).
The importance of DHA and EPA during pregnancy and breastfeeding:
DHA accounts for approximately 96% of all omega-3 fats in the brain and 93% of omega-3 fats in the retina of the eye. It is therefore essential for the proper development and functioning of the brain and vision. DHA and EPA contribute to the proper functioning of the heart.
The beneficial effect occurs when consuming 250 mg of EPA and DHA per day.
ACTIVE FORMS OF INGREDIENTS
To make folic acid, vit. B6 and vit. B12 could be used by the body and must be converted into its active form after ingestion. According to the data, on average, every second person in Europe experiences disorders of this transformation process. PRENACAPS MULTI 2 contains active forms of vitamin. B6 (pyridoxal 5′-phosphate), vit. B12 (methylcobalamin) and folic acid (Quatrefolic®), which do not require conversion and can be used immediately by the body.
TEST RESULTS Quatrefolic®
Study No. 1 The
study involved groups, each of which received identical doses of Quatrefolic® and folic acid, respectively.
The study showed that:
• Quatrefolic® achieved over 3 times higher maximum active substance concentration (Cmax ng / ml) 1 h after administration compared to folic acid (diagram 1)
• Quatrefolic® achieved over 9 times higher total bioavailability of the active substance (AUC8h ng / ml h ) compared to folic acid (Figure 2).
Study 2
This study compared the bioavailability of Quatrefolic® to calcium L-methylfolate. High bioavailability of both forms has been demonstrated. However, in the case of Quatrefolic®, the maximum concentration of active substance after administration (Cmax nmol / L) was 10% higher than that of calcium L-methylfolate.
PRENACAPS DHA
The recommended daily dose (2 capsules) contains: fish oil – 1200 mg, including: DHA – 600 mg, EPA – 120 mg.
Ingredients: fish oil, fish gelatin, humectant: glycerol, antioxidant: a mixture of tocopherols (from soybeans).
HOW TO USE
MULTI 2 – Take 2 capsules once a day with a meal. DHA – consume 2 capsules once a day with a meal.
Number of capsules / servings: MULTI 2 – 60 capsules / 30 servings; DHA – 60 capsules / 30 servings.
PRECAUTIONS
The products should be used after consulting a doctor. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose for consumption during the day. The products cannot be used as a substitute for a varied diet. Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. A balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are the basis for the proper functioning of the body. Before using a product containing vitamin D, it is advisable to perform a 25- (OH) D blood test and consult the test result with a doctor or pharmacist. It is not recommended to consume more than 50 µg of vitamin D / day from various sources.
