CANDAZOLE contains clotrimazole, an antifungal agent that inhibits the growth of fungi.
CANDAZOLE is used in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age to treat localized symptoms resulting from infections of the vulvovaginitis and glans penis (the distal part of the penis) caused by previously diagnosed candidiasis. These symptoms include itching, leucorrhoea (whitish discharge from the vagina), redness and a feeling of swelling of the mucous membrane of the vagina and glans penis, burning when urinating.
Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better or feel worse after 7 days of treatment.
How to use and dosage:
Adults and adolescents over 12 years: insert the contents of the applicator (about 5 g) as deep as possible into the vagina once a day, preferably in the evening, before going to bed, for 3 days in a row. If necessary, treatment can be. continue for another 3 days. If your doctor has told you that you have candidal vulvitis or, apply CANDAZOLE in a thin layer 2-3 times a day to the entire urogenital and anal area. To avoid re-infection, especially in the presence of candidal vulvitis or balanitis, it is necessary to carry out local treatment at the same time as your partner, applying the cream to the foreskin (the skin covering the head of the penis, the most distal part of the penis). Accelerate the absorption of the cream locally with light massage movements.
Duration of treatment. The maximum duration of treatment is 7 days. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor. In case of vulvitis or balanitis, treatment should be continued for 1-2 weeks.
How to use
1. Pull the plunger out of the disposable applicator until it stops.
2. Open the tube. Screw into the last disposable applicator and hold it firmly. Fill the applicator by gently pressing the tube.
3. Lying on your back (stomach up) with your legs slightly bent (flexed), remove the disposable applicator, insert it as far into the vagina as possible and empty it by applying regular and continuous pressure on the plunger.
4. Remove the applicator and throw it away.
The applicator should only be used once and then thrown away to avoid possible re-infection.
Do not use CANDAZOLE:
if you are allergic to clotrimazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using CANDAZOLE,
if:you have already suffered from the same conditions less than 2 months ago;
you have fever, lower abdominal pain, back pain, foul-smelling vaginal discharge, nausea, vaginal bleeding and/or shoulder pain.
The use, especially long-term, of topical products (applied to the skin) may cause sensitization (hypersensitivity); in this case, stop treatment and consult a doctor or pharmacist.
Avoid contact with eyes. Do not swallow.
It is preferable to start and stop treatment between menstrual periods.
When using this medicine, avoid vaginal intercourse, as the infection may be transmitted to your partner.
In addition, to avoid reinfection, especially in the presence of candidal vulvitis or balanitis, topical treatment of the partner is recommended.
Do not use tampons, vaginal douches, spermicides or other vaginal products during therapy with CANDAZOLE.
During treatment with CANDAZOLE, the effectiveness and safety of latex-based products such as condoms and diaphragms may be reduced.
Children and adolescents.
This medicine should not be used in children under 12 years of age.
STORAGE
Shelf life after first opening: 3 months. This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.
