“Composition
Active ingredients:100 ml of solution contain active ingredients: pheniramine maleate 0.30 g; tetrasodium hydrochloride 0.05 g.
Excipients:Boric acid; Borax; Water for injection.
Directions
Irireact is indicated for the treatment of allergic and inflammatory diseases of the conjunctiva, accompanied by photophobia, lacrimation, foreign body sensation, pain.
Method of administration and dosage
Instill 1-2 drops in the affected eye 2-3 times a day. Do not exceed the recommended doses. Strictly adhere to the recommended doses. A higher dosage of the product, even when applied locally and for a short period of time, can cause serious systemic effects. Irireact is contraindicated in children under 12 years of age.
Warnings
Despite the fact that the drug has very low systemic absorption, it should be used with caution in people suffering from hypertension, hyperthyroidism, heart disease and hyperglycemia (diabetes). If symptoms persist or worsen after a short period of treatment, advise the patient to consult a doctor.
In any case, the drug should not be used for more than 4 days in a row, unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, since otherwise undesirable effects may occur. In case of accidental ingestion or prolonged use in excessive doses, the product may cause toxic phenomena. Infections, pus, foreign bodies in the eye, mechanical, chemical, thermal damage require medical intervention.
Use, especially long-term, of topical agents may lead to sensitization phenomena. In this case, it is necessary to interrupt treatment and prescribe appropriate therapy.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the product or other related chemicals; in particular xylometazoline, oxymetazoline, naphazoline.
Narrow-angle/closed-angle glaucoma or other serious eye diseases.
Contraindicated in children under 12 years of age. Usually contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Contraindicated when used concomitantly with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (tranylcypromine, phenelzine, pargyline).
Overdose
If accidentally swallowed or used for a long time in excessive doses, the product may cause toxic effects. Accidental ingestion of the drug, especially in children, may cause central nervous system depression: severe sedation (severe drowsiness), coma. If this happens, wash out the stomach and take general supportive measures.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
There are no or limited data on the use of pheniramine maleate and tetryzoline hydrochloride in pregnant women.
As a precaution during pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is advisable to use Irirect only if really necessary and under the direct supervision of a physician.”
