Composition
Active ingredient: levonorgestrel.
Other ingredients: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, povidone, highly dispersed anhydrous silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate.
Scope
When taken in a timely manner, Vikela® prevents pregnancy after unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure. It works by delaying ovulation. This prevents the sperm and the fertilized egg from meeting, and pregnancy does not occur.
Dosage
Vikela can be taken at any time during the menstrual cycle, provided that you are not yet pregnant and do not suspect that you are pregnant. Do not chew the tablet, but swallow it whole with water.
Take one tablet as soon as possible, but no later than 72 hours after unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure. The pill works best if taken as soon as possible after unprotected sex.
Contraindications
Do not take Vikela if you are allergic to levonorgestrel or any of the other ingredients in this medicine.
Side effects
Very common side effects (may affect more than 1 in 10 people):
Dizziness, headache
Nausea, lower abdominal pain
Breast tenderness, delayed menstrual bleeding, heavy menstrual bleeding, bleeding, uterine pain, fatigue.

Diarrhea, vomiting
Painful menstruation
There have been cases of thromboembolism (blood clots) in post-marketing experience.
