Composition
Active ingredients: 20 mg nicotine polacrilin (1:4), 4 mg nicotine.
Excipients: Quinoline yellow, Hypromellose, Carnauba wax, Sucralose, Tutti Frutti QL 84441 flavor, Chewing gum base, Magnesium oxide, light, Sodium carbonate, Peppermint oil, Butylhydroxytoluene, Acesulfame potassium, Levomenthol, 579.5 mg xylitol, Polysorbate 80, Titanium dioxide, Gum arabic.
Scope
The drug is used to treat tobacco addiction by relieving withdrawal symptoms. Thus, the drug promotes smoking cessation. Even smokers who are currently unable to completely quit smoking can initially use chewing gum to reduce cigarette consumption (smoking reduction) with the goal of completely quitting smoking.
The product is intended for smokers with heavy tobacco dependence who smoked more than 20 cigarettes per day before treatment.
Dosage
Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the usual dose is:
Smoking cessation with immediate cessation
Adults and the elderly
1 piece per hour, maximum 16 pieces per day, with 8 to 12 pieces being considered an approximate amount,
for smokers who are heavily dependent on tobacco (as a guideline, a smoker is considered heavily dependent on tobacco if he or she smokes the first cigarette within 20 minutes of waking up and more than 20 cigarettes per day)
for smokers who have failed to quit smoking with the help of chewing gum with a lower dose (2 mg).
The product should be used whenever you usually smoke a cigarette or whenever you have the urge to smoke. To increase the chances of success in quitting smoking and to avoid relapse, it is important to chew a sufficient amount of gum every day.
The drug should be used between cigarettes to reduce cravings and thus prolong the period of abstinence from smoking. The goal should be to reduce smoking as much as possible.
Children and young people
Nicotine gum should not be used by children under 12 years of age.
Nicotine gum can only be used by adolescents (12 to 18 years of age) on the advice of a doctor, since the experience of using nicotine gum by people under 18 years of age is limited.
Duration of use
Smoking cessation with immediate smoking cessation
The drug should be used for a total of at least 3 months.
1 unit per hour, maximum 16 units per day, the recommended volume is 8-12 units.
After four to six weeks of treatment, the number of chewing gums per day should be gradually reduced, chewing the medicine at intervals of more than 1 hour.
The first attempt to stop the drug should be made when the average daily consumption during the last week is 1-2 tablets.
However, the chewing gum should be kept on hand for some time after the end of treatment to counteract the desire to smoke again.
Treatment lasting longer than 6 months is usually not recommended. Some former smokers may need longer treatment to prevent smoking relapse.
One piece of gum should be chewed for about 30 minutes with breaks in between to release the nicotine from the gum. The most important thing is to chew slowly. You should avoid chewing the gum quickly and/or vigorously so that the nicotine is not released from it too quickly.
Contraindications
The medicine should not be used if you are allergic to nicotine or any other component of this medicine, if you are a non-smoker, if you smoke irregularly and smoke one cigarette a day or less.
