Scope
The drug is used to treat tobacco addiction by relieving withdrawal symptoms. Thus, the drug promotes smoking cessation. Even smokers who are currently unable to completely quit smoking can initially use chewing gum to reduce cigarette consumption (smoking reduction) with the goal of completely quitting smoking.
The medicine is intended for smokers who smoked no more than 20 cigarettes a day before treatment.
Dosage
Adults and the elderly
1 cigarette per hour, maximum 16 cigarettes per day, while for smokers who are not heavily addicted to tobacco, the recommended dose is 8-12 cigarettes (no more than 20 cigarettes per day).
Chewing gum should be used whenever you usually smoke a cigarette or whenever you have the urge to smoke. To increase your chances of success in quitting smoking and to avoid relapse, it is important to chew a sufficient amount of gum every day.
Experience shows that smokers who want to quit smoking need fewer cigarettes than they previously smoked per day.
For heavy smokers (more than 20 cigarettes per day), there is chewing gum with a nicotine content of 4 mg. Ask your pharmacist about this.
The drug should be used between cigarettes to reduce cravings and thus prolong the period of abstinence. The goal should be to reduce smoking as much as possible.
Children and young people
Nicotine gum should not be used by children under 12 years of age.
Nicotine gum should only be used by adolescents (12 to 18 years of age) on the advice of a doctor, since the experience of using nicotine gum by people under 18 years of age is limited.
The drug should be used for at least 3 months in total.

Treatment lasting longer than 6 months is generally not recommended.
Contraindications
The medicine should not be used if you are allergic to nicotine or any other component of this medicine, if you are a non-smoker, if you smoke irregularly and smoke one cigarette a day or less.
