The active ingredient of the drug is liquid lactulose.
5 ml of syrup contains 2.5 g of liquid lactulose (in terms of synthetic disaccharide – lactulose).
Other ingredients of the drug: orange flavor 240.016, citric acid monohydrate, purified water.
Dosage
Lactulosum Hasko is intended for oral use.
For constipation, the recommended dose for an adult is initially 45 ml of syrup (22.5 g of liquid lactulose) per day in the morning before breakfast or 15 ml three times a day before meals. Maintenance dose for adults – 15 ml of syrup (7.5 g of liquid lactulose) on an empty stomach. For children over 3 years of age, it is recommended to initially administer 5–15 ml of syrup (2.5–7.5 g of liquid lactulose) per day, then the dose can be gradually increased at intervals of 3 days until normal stool is achieved. Children under 3 years of age are recommended to be given 5 ml of syrup (2.5 g of liquid lactulose) daily and this dose can be gradually increased every 3 days until normal bowel movements are achieved. For infants, the recommended initial dose is 2.5 ml of syrup (1.25 g of liquid lactulose) per day, then the dose can be increased every 3 days until normal stool is achieved.
Adults suffering from hepatic encephalopathy are recommended to take 120–180 ml of syrup (60–90 g of liquid lactulose) per day, divided into 3–4 doses. The number of doses should be selected so that the amount of loose stool per day is no more than 2-3, since large doses of the drug for this indication can cause diarrhea.
Action
Lactulosum Hasco syrup contains liquid lactulose, which is broken down in the colon into lactic, formic and acetic acid, as well as carbon dioxide. The resulting acids lower the pH in the colon to pH = 5–5.5. A decrease in pH promotes water retention in the large intestine and, consequently, an increase and dilution of stool and stimulation of intestinal motility.
In people with hepatic encephalopathy, liquid lactulose further reduces ammonia toxicity – the lower pH helps convert ammonia into ammonium ions, which are non-toxic and not absorbed in the intestine.
Indications
The product is indicated for people of all ages suffering from constipation, as well as for the prevention and treatment of hepatic encephalopathy.

Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if you suffer from intestinal obstruction.”
