The active substance is camphor ( Camphorum ).
10 g of ointment contains 1 g of camphor.
Excipient: hydrophilic petroleum jelly.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The drug should be applied to the skin. The recommended dosage of Camphor ointment in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age is 1 to 2 times a day to apply a thin layer of the drug to sore areas (a strip about 1 to 2 cm long). For children between 6 and 12 years of age, a smaller amount of ointment (approx. 0.5 to 1 cm) is used per application. Hands should be washed thoroughly after use.
Action
Camphor contained in the drug causes local hyperemia.
Indications
Camphor ointment is used in osteoarticular pain.
Contraindications
Do not use Camphor ointment in patients with hypersensitivity to camphor or any of the other ingredients of the drug. Contraindication to use is damaged skin, the face area and mucous membranes in the sore spot.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Very rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people) may occur contact dermatitis.
Warnings and Precautions
Protect your eyes while using Camphor Ointment. Do not apply the drug to large areas of the body.
Store in closed containers at a temperature not higher than 25 ° C.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
