Blanco Pharma Cetixin 10mg – Active Ingredients Cetirizine (Dihydrochloride) 10mg
The drug is used for
– Relief of nasal and eye symptoms in seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis,
– Relief of chronic urticaria (chronic idiopathic urticaria).
Contraindications and precautions
– if you are hypersensitive to cetirizine, other structurally related substances (hydroxyzine or other piperazine derivatives) or any of the other ingredients of the drug,
– if you have severe kidney disease (severe renal impairment with creatinine clearance below 10 ml/min).
Special caution is required when using the drug,
– if you have difficulty urinating (for example, due to problems with the spinal cord, prostate gland or bladder).
– if you are an epileptic or at risk of developing seizures. Antihistamines inhibit allergy skin tests. Therefore, a 3-day washout period is required before performing an allergy test.
If you are pregnant or suspect that you are pregnant, avoid using the medicine in pregnant women. Accidental ingestion by pregnant women should not result in harmful effects on the health of the fetus. However, the drug should be discontinued. Do not take the medicine during breastfeeding, as cetirizine passes into breast milk.
Side effects
– Swelling of the mouth, face, or throat
– Difficulty breathing (tightness in the chest or wheezing)
– Sudden drop in blood pressure with fainting or shock These symptoms may be signs of an allergic reaction, anaphylactic shock, and angioedema.
Common
Fatigue, dry mouth, nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, sore throat (pharyngitis), runny nose, sore throat (only in children).
Rarely
Abdominal pain, asthenia (extreme tiredness), malaise, paresthesia (paresthesia on the skin), agitation, itching, rash, diarrhea.
Rarely
Tachycardia (too fast heartbeat), edema (swelling), liver dysfunction, weight gain, seizures, aggression, confusion, depression, hallucinations, insomnia, urticaria, movement disorders, allergic reactions.
Take the tablets whole with a sufficient amount of liquid (with a glass), preferably in the evening. It can be taken regardless of food. Suck the lozenge until completely dissolved. It can be taken with or without water. The oral solution can be taken undiluted.
Film-coated tablets/lozenges/pastilles containing 10 mg for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age
10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride 1 tablet/lozenge once daily.
Children aged 6 to 12 years
5 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride 2 times daily, half a tablet/lozenge, 2 times daily.
Patients with moderate renal impairment are recommended to take 5 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride (equivalent to 1/2 tablet/lozenge) once daily.
