Composition
Active ingredients:
15 ml liquid extract of fresh bunch of bitter (Iberidis amarae herba et radix recens), DEV 1:1.5-2.5, extraction solvent: ethanol 50% v/v.
10 ml liquid extract of angelica root (Angelicae radix), DEV 1:2.5-3.5, extraction solvent ethanol 30% v/v.
20 ml liquid extract of chamomile flowers (Matricariae flos), DEV 1:2-4, extraction solvent ethanol 30% v/v.
10 ml liquid extract of caraway (Carvi fructus), DEV 1:2.5-3.5, extraction solvent ethanol 30% v/v.
10 ml liquid extract of milk thistle fruits (Silybi mariani fructus), DEV 1:2.5-3.5, extraction solvent ethanol 30% v/v.
10 ml liquid extract of lemon balm leaves (Melissae folium), DEV 1:2.5-3.5, extraction solvent ethanol 30% v/v.
5 ml liquid extract of peppermint leaves (Menthae piperitae folium), DEV 1:2.5-3.5, extraction solvent ethanol 30% v/v.
10 ml liquid extract of greater celandine (Chelidonii herba), DEV 1:2.5-3.5, extraction solvent ethanol 30% v/v.
10 ml liquid extract of licorice root (Liquiritiae radix), DEV 1: 2.5-3.5, extraction solvent ethanol 30% v/v.
Other ingredients: ethanol 96%, purified water. Total ethanol content 31% (v/v). 1 ml corresponds to 20 drops.
Scope
A herbal medicine for the treatment of functional and motor disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, such as irritable stomach syndrome and irritable bowel syndrome (with symptoms such as bloating, flatulence, gastrointestinal spasms, stomach pain, nausea, heartburn), as well as for the supportive symptomatic treatment of gastritis.
The drug is used in adults, adolescents and children aged 3 years and older.
Dosage
Recommended dose:
Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over: 20 drops 3 times a day.
Children aged 6 to 11 years: 15 drops 3 times a day.
Children aged 3 to 5 years: 10 drops 3 times a day.
Use in this age group is possible only after consultation with a doctor (see section 2).
Children under 3 years: Iberogast should not be used in children under 3 years of age (see section 2).
Directions for use:
For oral use.
Unless otherwise prescribed, Iberogast is taken 3 times a day before or during meals with a small amount of liquid.
Shake before use!
Duration of use:
The duration of use depends on the type, severity and course of the disease
Contraindications
Iberogast should not be taken if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to bitter candy, angelica root, chamomile flowers, caraway, milk thistle fruits, lemon balm leaves, peppermint leaves, celandine, licorice root or any other ingredient of this drug.
Side effects
Very rarely (may occur in 1 in 10,000 people) hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, itching, difficulty breathing may occur.
When using drugs containing celandine, cases of liver damage (increased levels of liver enzymes, bilirubin and even drug-induced jaundice (toxic drug-induced hepatitis)) and liver failure have been observed.
