Composition
Active ingredients:
0.15 ml liquid extract of fresh bunch of bitter (Iberis amara, planta tota recens), (1:1.5-2.5), extraction solvent: ethanol 50% v/v.
0.30 ml liquid extract of chamomile flowers (Matricaria recutica, flos), (1:2-4), extraction solvent ethanol 30% v/v.
0.20 ml liquid extract of caraway (Carum carvi, fructus), (1:2.5-3.5), extraction solvent ethanol 30% v/v.
0.15 ml liquid extract of lemon balm leaves (Melissa officinalis, folium), (1:2.5-3.5), extraction solvent ethanol 30% v/v.
0.10 ml of liquid extract of peppermint leaves (Mentha piperita, folium), (1:2.5-3.5), extraction solvent ethanol 30% v/v.
0.10 ml of liquid extract of licorice root (Glycyrrhiza species, radix), (1:2.5-3.5), extraction solvent ethanol 30% v/v.
Other ingredients: ethanol.
Scope
Iberogast is a herbal preparation used to treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), the main symptoms of which are stomach pain, burning in the upper abdomen, a feeling of fullness after eating, rapid satiety, but often also loss of appetite, excessive belching and heartburn.
The drug Iberogast Balance is used in adults aged 18 years and older.
Dosage
Recommended dose:
Adults 18 years and older: 20 drops 3 times daily.
Directions for use:
Take orally with a small amount of liquid, before or during meals.

Shake before use!
Hold the dropper bottle at a 45° angle when dispensing. After use, close the bottle tightly with the purple cap.
Notes before using the dropper bottle for the first time:
Remove the cap and discard the white part.
Tighten the purple cap until the dropper tip fits correctly.
Check if the dropper cap is tightly installed.
Contraindications
You should not take Iberogast Balance if you are allergic to any of the active ingredients (bitter grass, chamomile flowers, caraway, lemon balm leaves, peppermint leaves or licorice root) or to other plants of the Umbelliferae or Asteraceae families.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Allergic reactions with symptoms such as difficulty breathing, or skin reactions such as itching or rash may occur. The frequency is unknown from the available data (cannot be estimated from the available data).
