Aliud Cetirizin AL 1mg The active ingredient is cetirizine dihydrochloride. The drug is an antiallergic agent.
The drug is indicated for adults and children over 2 years of age for:
Relief of symptoms from the nose and eyes in seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis,
Relief of chronic idiopathic urticaria.
The drug CANNOT be taken if you are allergic to the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride or any other ingredient of the drug (closely related active ingredients of other drugs)
if you have severe kidney disease (severe renal impairment with creatinine clearance below 10 ml/min).
5 ml of solution contains 5 mg of cetirizine dihydrochloride.
The recommended dose is
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age
10 mg once daily as 10 ml of solution
Children 6 to 12 years of age
5 mg twice daily, 5 ml twice daily.
Children 2 to 6 years of age
2.5 mg twice daily as 2.5 ml of solution twice daily.
Patients with moderate renal impairment are recommended to take 5 mg once daily.
The duration of treatment depends on the type, duration and progression of symptoms.

Possible signs of overdose:
Confusion, dizziness, fatigue, headache, anxiety, sedation, drowsiness, tremor, lightheadedness, diarrhea, malaise, dilated pupils, itching, rapid heartbeat, urinary retention.
If you forget to take it, do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one.
If you stop taking the medicine – pruritus (severe itching) and/or urticaria (rash) may in rare cases return.
if you have difficulty urinating (for example, due to problems with the spinal cord, prostate or bladder),
if you have epilepsy or are at risk of seizures.
If you are due to have a skin allergy test, you must stop taking the medicine three days before the test.
In clinical studies, cetirizine at the recommended dose did not cause signs of impairment of attention, alertness or ability to drive.
However, if you are going to drive a car, work without a secure support or operate machinery, you should not exceed the recommended dose. You should carefully monitor your reaction to the medicine.
If you are sensitive, you may find that concomitant use of alcohol or other central nervous system depressants may further impair your alertness and ability to react.
Accidental use of the medicine by pregnant women is not expected to result in harmful effects on the fetus.
This medicine should not be taken during breastfeeding, as cetirizine passes into breast milk.
It is advisable to take the juice in the evening.
Take with food, drinks and alcohol
Food does not significantly affect the absorption of cetirizine from the gastrointestinal tract into the blood. Therefore, the juice can be taken both with and without food.
No interactions with significant effects have been found between alcohol (at a blood level of 0.5 ppm, which is equivalent to about one glass of wine) and cetirizine in normal doses. However, as with all antihistamines, it is recommended to avoid concomitant use of alcohol. Contains parabens as preservatives. The drug may cause hypersensitivity reactions. Contains fructose, invert sugar (honey), lactitol, maltitol, isomaltitol, sucrose or sorbitol. Should not be used in patients with hereditary fructose intolerance.
