Aconex 0.1% eye drops for the symptomatic treatment of non-infectious conjunctival irritations.

Aconex has a vasoconstricting effect, which leads to an immediate drooping of the mucous membranes.

ACONEX eye drops contain naphazoline as the active ingredient, which reduces swelling of the conjunctiva and inhibits non-bacterial conjunctivitis. If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 2 days of treatment, consult your doctor.

Caution: This medication may impair your ability to react and drive safely. As with all eye drops, the temporary blurring of your field of vision may temporarily impair your ability to drive and operate machinery. These activities should not be resumed until your vision has fully recovered.

Application

The recommended dose for adults is : 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac 1-2 times daily. Please note that the maximum daily dose of 4 drops per day per affected eye should not be exceeded. The interval between doses should not be less than 3 hours.
Use in children and adolescents : Since there are no data on the efficacy and safety of ACONEX eye drops in children 2 years of age and older and adolescents up to 18 years of age, use in this age group is not recommended. Aconex should not be used in children under 2 years of age (see “Do not use ACONEX eye drops”).

Type of application :

For ocular use. For instillation into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye.

Wash your hands thoroughly before use.
Avoid contact between the tip of the bottle and the eye or eyelid.
Apply 1-2 drops to each eye. Tilt your head back, look up, and gently pull the lower eyelid down.
Close your eyes for a few seconds without squeezing too much and then blink several times.
Gently press with one finger into the corner of your eye near your nose for as long as possible (e.g., 1-2 minutes). This helps prevent ACONEX eye drops from being absorbed into your body.
Close the bottle after use.

If other local eye medications are used, an interval of 10 minutes must be maintained between applications.
