The active ingredient of the drug is melatonin.
1 tablet contains 5 mg of melatonin.
Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide.
Dosage
The medicine should be taken orally with tablets of water. Melabiorythm should not be used if lower doses of the drug are effective.
The dosage of Melabiorite in adults depends on the therapeutic indications. For sleep disturbances caused by jet lag, melatonin is used 2–3 mg once a day at nightfall from the start of the trip, then for 2–3 days after its end. For disturbances in the circadian rhythm of sleep and wakefulness, for example, due to shift work: from 1 to 5 mg per day one hour before bedtime. For disturbances in the circadian rhythm of sleep and wakefulness, 0.5–5 mg is prescribed daily at around 21:00–22:00, also for long-term treatment. The effect of the drug in long-term treatment of disorders of circadian rhythms of sleep and wakefulness is sometimes observed only after 2 weeks of taking the drug.
Action
Melabiorhythm works by replenishing the amount of melatonin produced in the human body in the central nervous system by the pineal gland. This substance is a neurohormone that regulates sleep and wakefulness during the day (biological circadian rhythm). During the day, the concentration of this hormone is low, and at night it is highest. Melatonin has a direct sleep-inducing effect and additionally adjusts changes in the rhythm of sleep and wakefulness to changes in lighting and the length of day and night.
Indications
Melabiorythm is used in the supportive treatment of sleep-wake rhythm disorders (time zone change, shift work) and circadian rhythm disorders in blind patients.
Contraindications
Melabiorythm should not be used by people with hypersensitivity to melatonin or any of the ingredients of the drug. Contraindications to the use of the drug are: depression; liver and kidney diseases; after drinking alcohol. Do not prescribe Melabioritm to adolescents, children, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding.”
