The active ingredient is Hymecromonum.
1 tablet contains hymecromone 200 mg.
Excipients: potato starch, gelatin, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate.
Dosage
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The usual dose for adults is 200 to 400 mg (1 to 2 tablets) three times daily for a week.
The tablet should not be divided.
The medicine should be taken half an hour before meals.
Action
Cholestil Max contains the active substance hymecromone, which is a coumarin derivative. It has a relaxing effect on the smooth muscles of the bile ducts and sphincter of Oddi, enhances the secretion of bile and accelerates its excretion through the biliary tract. This action reduces bile stagnation and associated symptoms, and also prevents the formation of cholesterol deposits and gallstones.
Indications
Cholestil Max is used:
as an adjuvant in the symptomatic treatment of spasms of the biliary tract, dyskinesia, dyspeptic disorders,
in conditions after operations on the gallbladder and biliary tract,
as well as lack of appetite, nausea and constipation associated with decreased bile secretion.
Contraindications
if you are hypersensitive to hymecromone or any other ingredient of this medicine,
if you have bile duct obstruction,
if you have severe liver and/or kidney failure,
in patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
