ACC optima contains the active substance acetylcysteine. Acetylcysteine reduces the viscosity of bronchial secretions and facilitates their expectoration. ACC optima is used as a drug that thins respiratory tract secretions and facilitates their expectoration in patients with bronchitis associated with colds.
- WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
Before using ACC optima, talk to your doctor or pharmacist if: – you have had or are chronically suffering from bronchial asthma, as the drug may cause
bronchial spasm and shortness of breath;
you have had a peptic ulcer in the past;
you currently have or have had respiratory failure in the past;
the patient has a problem with expectoration (it may be necessary to use so-called respiratory physiotherapy – the doctor will provide information on what it involves);
the patient has been diagnosed with histamine intolerance (long-term use of the drug may cause
the occurrence of symptoms of intolerance, such as headache, nasal discharge, itching);
the patient is elderly (over 65 years old).
If changes to the skin or mucous membranes occur during the use of the drug, stop taking the drug and consult a doctor immediately.
HOW TO USE ACC OPTIMA
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as recommended by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Adults and adolescents over 14 years of age
1 ACC optima effervescent tablet once daily (600 mg acetylcysteine daily).
ACC optima should not be used in children under 14 years of age.
Do not use ACC optima for more than 4 to 5 days without a doctor’s recommendation.
