The medicine is a protective agent for the skin.
Zinc oxide has an enveloping-protective and secretion-binding effect in acute and subacute dermatoses.
This medicine should not be used if you have increased sensitivity (allergy) to zinc or any other component of the drug.
When applied to large areas of skin, no more than 20% of the body surface should be treated.
The drug is applied to the affected areas of the skin one or more times a day, if necessary, covering with a gauze bandage.
Side effects
After application to severely inflamed areas of the skin, a slight burning sensation may occur.
Skin redness, dryness, roughness of the skin, and acanthotic changes of the skin may occasionally occur, leading to discontinuation of therapy.
Zinc oxide may be used during pregnancy if used as directed and dosage instructions are followed. However, large-scale use should be avoided.
